XVYCC: Abbreviation for Extended Version of YCC. The color model, standardized as IEC 61966-2-4 under the name xvYCC, was specially developed for HD media such as Blu-Ray-Discs (see Blu-Ray) and HD-DVDs (see HD-DVD), develops and enables devices on which xvYCC is implemented to display 1,8 times as many colors as conventional ones HDTVsignals (see HDTV) . In addition, xvYCC color signals are displayed more precisely, more naturally and more vividly on HD displays.
