DVB-S

DVB-S: The "Digital Video Broadcasting Satellite" designates the variant of DVB for transmission via satellite. DVB-S is the most commonly used variant of DVB, since most TV and radio programs can be received thanks to the high data transmission rate. In contrast to DVB-T and DVB-C it does not require any additional infrastructure (cable networks, etc.) and thus also offers television and radio reception in rural areas. However, a universal LNB, a multi-switch suitable for digital bands and a digital receiver are required to receive DVB-S.
