CVBS

CVBS: Color Video Based Signal. English term for the CVBSimage transmission standard, which is still used today for all video, DVD-, Blu-Ray- and TVs in the form of a yellow connector labeled "Video Out". CVBS is the simplest and therefore also the poorest image transmission standard in terms of quality that we have. Usually, the standard signal is simply used for transmission PAL used. With CVBS, all of the image data (color signal, image signal, blanking signal and synchronization signal) are "mixed together" in one line.

In theory, only one wire is required to transmit the image. However, a ground wire or shielding necessary, so that two-wire cables are used. Ton is not transmitted over a CVBS line. Additional lines are required for this. One of the major advantages of CVBS is the simple and widespread connection option.

A CVBS Connection actually has every device today, either via one Cinch-, or about one Scart-Connection. The connection can be made using simple and inexpensive lines. Any device can process the CVBS signal.
