quadrupler

quadrupler: A circuit in one image processor (see image processor), which in addition to line doubling (see line doubler) between each row an additional line is calculated. Since this line does not exist on the source material, quadrupling may give the image a somewhat artificial character. Quadrupling teaches advantages that iron out this disadvantage letterbox-Material, especially for Laserdiscs (see Laserdiscs).
