polarization: Plane corresponding to the electrical component of an electromagnetic wave. With satellite transmission, two different planes are used around the frequency spectrum better exploit: the horizontal and the vertical plane. The system is based on positioning the bands of two adjacent channels partially on top of each other. The interferencethat could arise is prevented by polarizing the two channels differently.
With the help of this system, the ASTRA satellite is now able to transmit more than 50 TV channels, which are adjacent to each other and partially overlap each other, without any interference occurring between them.
