Pixel Plus

Pixel Plus: Denotes the digital electronic image enhancer that Philips uses for its Plasmatelevisions and also for the top models of conventional televisions. pixel Plus increases the number of lines to 2.048 and lines from 625 to 833. This is done by the Pixel Plus processor adding artificial pixels (that are not present in the source material) in real time. As a result, higher detail resolution and better depth of field should produce a more realistic image. However, test series have shown that the image enhancer acuity (see Acuity) from Panasonic produces noticeably fewer movement artifacts with comparable image quality.
