dubbing theatre: Specially designed cinema that serves as a reference cinema and at the same time is a recording studio. As part of the film production, the soundtrack is mixed there. Aim of mixing in one dubbing Theater is about always conveying to the cinemagoer the same sound character of the film as intended by the director, regardless of the sound formats used (DTS, DolbyStereo, Dolby Digital or SDDS) and exactly as it will later be heard in a cinema. THX Certified films are mixed in THX Certified Dubbing Theaters.
