DTS-HD Master Audio Essential: Denotes an enhanced HD audio Codec for DTS-HD masters. As a digital 7.1-capable codec, it enables the lossless transmission of soundtracks, but does not support DTS 96/24, DTS ES, DTS ES Matrix and DTS Neo6. However, it is backward compatible, so DVDs in DTS digital surround-Sound can be played. A transfer is only via HDMI is possible.
