convergence: Video or television images consist of the colors red, green, and blue (RGB, see RGB). Correct reproduction of the video signal or television image is only possible if these three colors are superimposed absolutely congruently. Convergence errors become noticeable through fringing of the colors on lines and edges. An important and complex procedure is the convergence adjustment in tube projection devices.
