step response: Similar to the impulse response the step response is measured on the time axis, but shows the course of a voltage step, not that of an impulse. That Signal is suddenly "switched on" and remains applied for the period of the measurement. In principle, this can also be viewed as driving with an infinitely high frequency (during the rise) and simultaneously with an infinitely low frequency (DC voltage: frequency = zero).
