resonant frequency

resonant frequency: Process in loudspeaker technology and room acoustics is important. natural resonance is a molecularly determined resonance behavior of a material. Almost any material will resonate at one or more specific frequencies when struck or subjected to some other external force.

The specific natural resonance frequency depends on the shape, weight and stiffness of the material. With loudspeakers there are intentional and unintentional - unavoidable - system resonances, such as e.g. B. the natural resonance of the moving mass of the speaker. Other resonances, such as B. those in the housing of the speaker, in the material of Membran or on the suspension of the Chassis are unwanted and should be avoided as far as possible in terms of design.
