oversampling

oversampling: Describes a process within the framework of the production of digital software CD, where the digital filter with a higher sampling rate (sampling rate) – e.g. B. 8x oversampling works, thereby filtering out glitches and ultimately saving the software with a lower sampling rate (in the case of the CD 44,1 kHz).

As a result, noise and other background noise are eliminated on the CD. However, oversampling also reduces the original quality, especially the warmth of the analogue sound.
