Multi-Way Loudspeaker:

Multi-Way Loudspeaker: With high-quality loudspeakers, the individual frequency ranges are Crossover distributed to different speakers. With 3-way boxes, three Chassis – High, medium and woofer – built into a loudspeaker housing. With 2-way speakers there is a tweeter and a mid/bass driver.

With the 2,5-way system - in addition to the Tweeter - Two additional drivers are used to transmit the medium and low frequency response. However, there is no decidedly separate specialization between these two drivers, rather both drivers run in parallel up to a certain lower frequency.

It is only at this specific frequency that one of the two drivers decouples, while the other "shoulders" the low-frequency sound component alone. The 4-way box (see 4-way box) is further divided. The counterpart are broadband loudspeakers (see broadband chassis).
