Maximum sound pressure level

Maximum sound pressure level: In contrast to the subjective term maximum volume, describes the maximum SPL a physically measurable value that a sound transducer can emit without distortion.

The basis for this is the sound pressure generated in pascals, with the determined value being a logarithmic ratio to the quietest, just audible Ton (hearing threshold) stands. The maximum sound pressure level is specified in dBspl (decibel/sound pressure level).
