sound properties

sound properties: There is an abundance of z. T. quite imaginative adjectives to describe sound properties. Since these are mostly quite subjective statements, here is verbatim from the book "HiFi- Select & tune systems" by Reinhard Frank, 1994, quoted by Franzis Verlag:

“The listening comparison proves how good a loudspeaker sounds: clear and open; he renders the most complicated music with ease; Tone colors can be heard naturally. The Klang must be neither annoying nor superficial, the bass must be tight and clean at all volumes. The space is characterized by natural depth and width staggering, as well as the precise location of the instruments. The less you hear from the loudspeaker, the better: With recordings that are correct in terms of sound and good quality, you quickly forget that a loudspeaker is playing and listening becomes a pleasure.”
