impedance: Resistance of a loudspeaker, measured in Ohm. Most boxes have a nominal impedance of 4 or 8 ohms. Nominal impedance because, in contrast to a fixed resistor, it is frequency-dependent, i.e. it can change significantly depending on the frequency. The nominal impedance describes only an average value. Example: According to DIN, all speakers that do not fall below the 3,2 ohm mark in the power-intensive bass range can be declared as 4 ohm models.
