Class AB: Amplifier principle according to which almost all common power amplifiers work. The class AB circuit works with a low quiescent current, the output current increases with the level, which the music dictates. This circuit is relatively efficient as it generates little heat loss and yet the level of distortion caused by the dynamics of the output stage load is kept very low.
