Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games is an Official Video Game of the Olympic Games developed and published by Sega. It is the sixth game in the Mario & Sonic series and the first to be set in the context of the Summer Olympics. The game was released in Japan on November 8, 2019 and on November 9, XNUMX in Japan.

The game was released for the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U.

There are two different editions of the game: a regular edition and a special edition. The special edition includes a metallic Sonic the Hedgehog figure, a sticker book, a postcard set and a poster.

The game is a multiplayer game and can be played by 14 players.

In Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, players can compete in the following Olympic disciplines: 100m dash, 110m hurdles, hammer throw, taking, jungle sprint, fencing, soccer, golf, gymnastics, trampoline, judo, karate, wrestling, sailing , surfing, table tennis, volleyball and diving.

Players can choose from a roster of 34 characters drawn from both the Mario and Sonic franchises. Each character has different strengths and weaknesses in each discipline.
