Phono MM input: Turntables with MM cartridges (Moving Magnet cartridges) deliver only a very low output voltage (two to five mV) - a normal one high level input delivers 100 to 500 mV. Therefore, this turntable connection requires a special, highly sensitive preamp, the phono preamp (see phono preamplifier) with its own input.
