SPL

SPL: With the Sound Presure Level or SPL is used in the audio world to describe the volume level produced by loudspeakers. The SPL is measured in dB (see decibels) at 1 watt input power and at a distance of 1 meter. For classification: a quiet conversation has about 45 dB, the rattling of a typewriter about 70 dB, a passing truck up to 95 dB. From 95 dB, the sound is perceived as loud to unpleasant, from 110 dB hearing damage can occur.
