sample: When digitizing audio and video signals, the analog output signal is sampled at regular intervals (sampling rate).
The analogue becomes Signal (see signal) depending on quantization (see quantization) converted into a digital data value. The data value obtained in this way at a point in time is referred to as a sample. The final digital data stream, e.g. B. the PCM-Data stream (see PCM) calculated.
