FED: Field Emission Display. A technique developed by Sony to take advantage of the roar-TVs to unite with those of the LCDs.
The field emission screens are externally the same as LCD-Screens, but work similar to tube devices with electron beams,
hitting a fluorescent windscreen.
This gives you the advantages of tube TVs, such as higher color brilliance, higher black level, higher reaction speed, etc.
