Equalizer

Equalizer: Abbreviated EQ, a component that makes it possible to boost or cut individual frequency ranges of the frequency spectrum by a specific one frequency response to achieve. So e.g. B. bass or treble are particularly emphasized. Example: In a home cinema, the surround speakers are located behind a fabric covering that is not completely acoustically transparent. In this case, you will not only increase the sound level of these channels, but possibly also the high frequencies, because these may be particularly affected by the fabric covering. Depending on the number of frequency ranges that can be controlled separately, a distinction is made between 7-, 10-, or 16-Band-Equalizer or octave or third-Equalizer. A distinction is made between graphic EQs with up to 30 fixed bands (frequency ranges) and parametric EQs with few in the starting frequency, bandwidth and level adjustable bands.
