DVD A

DVD A: Designates a special variant of the DVD, which only stores audio files. The advantages of this disc defined in DVD-Book C are obvious: a maximum sampling rate of 192 kHz, a sampling depth of 24 bits and the lossless playback of up to six digital audio tracks via the MPEG2 codecs, Dolby Digital, DTS and MLP. In the meantime, the Dvd audio, which have long competed for SACD stood, however, from the Blu-Ray-Disk displaced.
