DLP link:

DLP link: Denotes a process for generating three-dimensional images, especially in 3D films. With its help, the projection of two stereoscopic images with a compatible 3dshutter glasses synchronized. In this way, the user receives a moving picture with the impression of real spatial depth.

DLP-Link is based on the use of micromirror actuators for image generation. The basic principle is as follows: To generate three-dimensional images, a projector projects 120 images per second, alternately one for the right and one for the left eye. A white image is projected between the individual images, but this is not perceived by the human eye. DLP-Link compatible 3D glasses can use this white image to communicate with the Beamer synchronize.

For a 3D impression, they always only leave the right image for the respective eye. But what are the advantages and disadvantages compared to other 3D processes?

With the shutter technology, ghost images (with good synchronization) almost never occur anymore. Unlike solutions that require an emitter, DLP-Link has the benefit of being synced directly to the canvas and not through the playback device. If you synchronize with the PC, for example, minimal delays can occur due to cable lengths, which can destroy the 3D effect.

These delays are impossible with DLP-Link, since the light signal for the synchronization of the glasses from the projector to the screen to the glasses takes just as long as the light of the image itself. Furthermore, the range of DLP-Link is significantly higher than IR.
