Bass reflex: Loudspeaker with a round opening on the housing to conduct additional sound waves from the inside to the outside. This enables the expansion of the housing with the same housing size frequency range down, for one clear reason: you harness the sound radiated backwards by the bass driver. With closed loudspeaker housings, this is converted into heat.
