ANSI lumens

ANSI lumens: The term lumen comes from the Latin and defines the unit of measurement for a luminous flux that hits a projection surface. ANSI is the abbreviation for the American National Standards Institute. The compound term ANSI lumen can currently be found in projector technology. The lumenPerformance, by dividing the projection image into nine squares and averaging the nine different readings. Unfortunately, the performance specified by the manufacturer often deviates from the actual value.

The reasons for this are quickly found: these values are often maximum values or incorrectly calibrated photometers. The current cut of the luminosity is 2000 to 4000 ANSI lumens. Old models don't even get over the 1000 mark. However, since the manufacturer's specifications are average values, as already mentioned, no conclusions can be drawn in advance about the uniformity of the illumination of the projection surface.
